Founded in 2023 by occupational therapists Morgan Smith and Beck Giallella, RISE DC was created to address the growing need for meaningful, community-based programming for transition-aged young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Washington, DC.
Through their work in the field, they recognized a significant gap in services that focused not only on building essential life skills, but also on fostering peer relationships, confidence, and community connection for young adults.
RISE now provides therapeutic day services, occupational therapy and speech therapy to young adults across Washington, DC.
