RISE works with schools and businesses to offer effective data-driven resources, trainings, and programs to increase accessibility for all students or employees. Whether developing a sensory room, transition-based curriculum, or in-service training on accessibility and inclusive design, we aim to ensure that the DC community is equipped with the knowledge, resources, and support to increase equity for all.

RISE provides school-based occupational therapy, speech therapy, and assistive technology services to Washington, DC schools.
We offer in-service trainings for teachers, therapists, and staff on sensory processing, executive functioning, transition planning, IEPs and evaluations.
We also support schools in creating schoolwide visual supports and communication systems tailored to their students’ needs.

RISE designs and provides recommendations for sensory rooms and calm corners in schools, community spaces, and homes.
Training includes creation of a sensory diet, implementation and use of sensory equipment, and communication opportunities through sensory room use.
Follow-up consultative services are provided to ensure the sensory space fits your needs.

Focuses include ensuring accessibility for all customers, increasing the ability to successfully support employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and universal designs that fit the needs of all customers and employees.

Learn how to integrate the use of switches, AAC, smart hubs, and voice activation to increase accessibility and independence for all members of your community.

RISE works with schools to create individualized, evidence-based transition curriculums for students ages 12-22.
We will consult, create, and help implement programming in your school to increase student independence in life skills and vocational tasks and ultimately promote success in post-graduation life.
