Therapeutic Day Program

Who is RISE's Therapeutic Day Program for?

Our therapeutic day program is geared toward young adults, ages 18 - 30, with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are looking for waiver funded day programs in Washington DC.

What skills do participants work on?

RISE focuses on independent living skills, job and volunteer readiness, social participation, leisure exploration, and community navigation and safety. All participants have person-centered goals they work on to increase their independence.

When is the RISE Therapeutic Day Program?

RISE is a year-round day program that is funded through Washington DC's DDS IDD/IFS Waiver. We accept referral for both day habilitation and Individualized Day Supports.
Our day program operates Monday through Friday from 9:00am -3:30pm. RISE’s Therapeutic Center is located at 910 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003

What makes RISE different?

RISE’s therapeutic day program is more than just a safe space for people to be during the day. At RISE, participants work throughout the day on gaining skills in a therapeutic way. Participants make their own meals and snacks, work on individual skills (budgeting, writing, cleaning, completing work tasks, hygiene, cooking), participate in occupational therapy and speech therapy, volunteer at local businesses, and explore the community (going to a library or museum, grocery shopping, ordering at a restaurant, and learning job readiness skills at specific worksites).
